I am trying to remove the waste from a bathroom basin. I sealed it originally with Plumbers Mate but this has gone hard and I cannot reove the nut from the waste. Any solutions to soften the Plumbers Mate will be very welcome.

Hi try a little heat from a blow torch this will heat the nut and break the seal carefully though
