There is no argument from the Federation that there needs to be regulation but it needs to be fair and equitable and above all, common sense needs to be applied. When people start to do things they normally wouldn't do then the regulation is failing.
We have no representation on the Board and no rights with regard to questioning Board decisions. Put simply the industry has no one helping it to get to where it should be. No one to fight for its rights, no one to push for change, no one to get what we need.
For our industry to move forward we need to put the Board and what they do to one side and ignore them for a while. Give this weeks issue some real thought.
I say WELL DONE to the Federation as they are more forgiving than me. When you look at all the bullshit the industry has been through over the last 10 or so years its quite easy to get bitter and stay resentfull but the Federation keeps on going identifying issues, coming up with solutions and holding the Board accountable on our behalf and taking the abuse for doing it. They just haven't given up and now they are talking of working with those who have dismissed them. I take my hat off to the committee.
Who knows where we would be as an industry if the Federation wasn't stepping up all the time. I only hope Master Plumbers wakes up and gets on board with the Federation now rather than waiting and supporting its members on the PGD Board. I agree with what the Federation has said about our industry once being the best and we should be aiming to return it to that status. If there are any Master Plumbers readers out there get on to your executive and push things along for the industry - the Federation isn't the enemy. Its all very well claiming to be good but a different matter actually be good.
