Title: Fellow Practitioner Issue 311 Dated 22 July 2016

Four years ago the Federation voiced its concerns to the then Industry Training Organisation (ITO) about the manner in which the review of the Plumbing Gasfitting and Drainlaying industry qualifications was being conducted. So what has been achieved in the four years? We believe very little and there is only a minor chance the industry will get what it needs if the process continues along the track driven by Skills New Zealand (ITO).

Good on the Federation for pushing the envelope. For far too long the Industry has been subservient to anyone who wants to push their own agenda. Time to get control before it is too late. One qualification solves the majority of the problems we as tradespeople pay to correct.
