hi guys, hope the Board are investigating this one, cheers
...
Mr.xxxxxxx had just returned from the supermarket and was about to cook lunch on the gas hob when the kitchen exploded. Otara fire officer Steve Jones said the likely cause was a gas leak from a hot water cylinder.

Depends who they can pin it on or if they have any mates to protect, which is as sad.... as it is wrong....

I'm sure we all know the piddly rates that are for Housing NZ repairs. One does wonder if this incident occurred because an unqualified/unsupervised person did the work rather than pay for a qualified gasfitter because cheap is better for the bottom line?

Anyone know the actual address, you could try and look it up on the defunct Board cert register or the "optional" other one......can't believe I can write that in a modern civilised society.....

Can't read the house number in the photo but it is Gilbert Rd Otara

"Emergency services were called to Gilbert Rd in Otara at about 12.45pm on Saturday after a neighbour reported the sound of an explosion, a Fire Service spokeswoman said."
