Has anone else noticed thatthe Board fines are huge compared to those handed dodwn in the District Court? Can anyone offer a sound reason for this. I'd liketheBoard to answer as well but they never would of course.

hi guys/womble, you are right, the whole disciplinary system needs scraping, it is so ridiculous that a tradesman can be made to pay such hugh fines by a kangaroo court for minor digressions. Mistakes are made and are fixed without a middle man stepping in, if we were all fined for simple mistakes we might as well be on the dole, cheers

Hi Guys

It's a simple answer.  The Board helps fund the corporate scavangers living off our industry. Look at theses costs for one case this year.

Lawyer Fees       $44,658.53
Legal advisor       $13,295.26
Auditor          $14,961.14
Investigator       $21,175.72
Experts          $   4,685.89
Board Costs                $20,870.24 (Accommodation meals etc not included)

The fines high because they can impose them and the costs are high so they can justify their existance. They have no morals.

hi guys/Wal, yes you are right, no morals or conscience but we will never be able to sustain these costs and so will eventually leave the industry, cheers
